Club Rules

The following rules set out the acceptable standards for Members and guests using Lighthouse Social.

Eligibility for Membership

At the discretion of the Club’s Membership Committee, Lighthouse Social Membership is offered to those over 25 years old on or before the date accepted as a Member. The Lighthouse Social management team reserves the right to ask Members to present valid identification upon arrival at Lighthouse Social.

Your Application

In submitting an application to be a Member of Lighthouse Social, you agree to be bound by these Club Rules and the Terms and Conditions of Membership. You represent and warrant to us that you are at least 25 years old. All applications for Membership are reviewed and considered by the Lighthouse Social Membership Committee. Applicants will be informed when their application has been received, and when it has been accepted by the Membership Committee.

The waiting time from application to acceptance can vary enormously, so it is not always possible to inform Applicants how long their application will take to be accepted. For the avoidance of doubt, Lighthouse Social is a private members’ club. Applications and memberships (whether new or continuing) shall be determined by the Lighthouse Social Membership Committee, in their absolute discretion. Please note that we have many more applications than we have available memberships. Lighthouse Social will not provide reasons for any decisions it makes as to membership of the Club and it may not contact unsuccessful applicants.

Membership Categories

Lighthouse Social offers the following categories of Membership:

MEMBERSHIP – Available to those aged 30 and over, and provides access to all Lighthouse Social club programming, benefits and spaces on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of Fulham Pier - Screening Room, ‘Club’ style Shared Workspace, Conservatory, Library, Hammersmith Bar & Terrace, Central Bar & Living Room Lounge, Roof Terrace Promenades, and Putney Lounge Bar & Events Terrace.

U30 MEMBERSHIP – AAvailable to those whose Applications are accepted before their 30th birthday, and provides access to all the same programming, benefits and spaces. Under U30 Members enjoy a special, reduced annual rate from their date of joining, until their 31st birthday (whereupon the fee will increase to the full Membership fee for subsequent years). If an Application is not accepted before your 30th birthday, the full Membership fee will apply to your Membership.

CHILD MEMBERSHIP – Available to children aged 1-6 years old. Each Child Member is linked to one more registered parent Members. Children that are aged 1-6 are not allowed in the Club unless they are Child Members, and remain in the creche, except when attending specific programming in the Club that caters to young children. Registered parent Members are responsible for all Membership fees, and booking creche sessions.

All categories of Membership shall be subject to these Club Rules and the Lighthouse Social Terms and Conditions of Membership, a copy of which is set out below. Members whose children are accepted as Child Members will, in addition, be subject to the Lighthouse Social Creche Terms and Conditions of Membership. Any and all such terms and conditions shall be subject to change from time to time. While Lighthouse Social will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that Members are aware of such changes, it is the responsibility of the Member to ensure that they have an up to date version of the relevant terms and conditions.

Membership Term(s) & Renewal

All Lighthouse Social Memberships are provided on an annual basis, commencing on the Membership start date. Memberships are automatically renewed annually on the anniversary of the start date, following the initial first year Membership Term. Membership is non-refundable for each 1-year commitment.

Membership Fees & Deposits

Following the approval of your Membership Application, or renewal of your Membership, your Membership fee becomes payable immediately. Upon acceptance, a non-refundable joining fee will be charged. Any applicable Membership fees will be charged either annually or monthly according to Member preference stated upon joining. Fees will be charged on an automated recurring basis.

By providing us with your payment details, you accept and consent to being charged with Membership fees in the form requested by Lighthouse Social upon your Application being approved or renewed. Membership fees can be changed at the club’s sole discretion, at any time, and we will notify you in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date or frequency of the payment of your Membership fees.

Failure to pay the annual Membership fee (or any instalment of the same, where applicable) within one month of the due date, after being notified by Lighthouse Social, will result in Membership, and access to the Club, being suspended until payment is received. If a Member is still in arrears three months from the due date, their Membership may be terminated without notice.

Membership Cancellations & Committee Discretion

To cancel a Membership to Lighthouse Social, a Member must provide the Club with written notice. Should any Membership be cancelled, lapse or be terminated for any reason, all outstanding balances must be immediately settled, and any Lighthouse Social property returned to the club. Where a Member cancels their Membership and subsequently seeks to rejoin as a Member, they will be required to complete a new application, which will be determined by the Membership Committee. If accepted, they will be required to pay the Joining Fee and Membership Fee applicable as at the date of their new application. For the avoidance of doubt, the Membership Committee reserves the right to revoke the Membership of any Member, at any time, and at its sole discretion without providing a reason. Membership fee refunds or partial refunds shall be at the Club’s absolute discretion.

Proposing New Members and Being Proposed for Membership

All current Members of the club are welcome to propose new applicants to join Lighthouse Social. Having a current Member act as your proposer in support of your Membership application is not mandatory, nor will it guarantee the membership of the person proposed, however it can be looked upon favourably by the Membership Committee.

Freezing Membership

In certain circumstances, and at the sole discretion of Club management, Members may be permitted to temporarily ‘freeze’ their Memberships for a period of time. These circumstances include (but are not limited to) maternity / paternity leave, protracted illness, loss of employment, secondment or overseas employment. Requests to freeze your Membership must be made in writing to the Club, and the timing and length of the freeze will be reviewed and considered by Club management. Only one freeze period is permissible during a single Membership year.

Your Membership Card

Your digital Membership Card can be accessed easily by downloading and storing from the Members portal app to an Apple wallet or similar digital wallet. A digital Membership Card will be required for checking in to the Club each time you visit.

Reservation Policy

Reservations can be made no more than 30 days in advance. Reservations of up to 6 guests should be made via the online portal or Member app. Reservations of 7 or more can be made via email or phone to the reception team.

Settling Your Bills

Members are responsible for settling any balance opened during each visit to Lighthouse Social, and Members will assume responsibility for open balances of their guests and any Child Members connected to their Membership. Lighthouse Social will charge the credit card linked to a Member’s account for any balance left unpaid and by these Rules, Members authorise us to do so. All Members must always maintain a valid form of payment on file with the Lighthouse Social Membership team. Any bills or charges that remain outstanding for more than a week, for any reason, may result in Membership suspension. An optional service charge will be added to all bills. Lighthouse Social operates as a cashless venue.

Dress Code

Whilst, generally speaking, Lighthouse Social adopts a relaxed dress code, Members should ensure that attire worn at the club is appropriate at all times and is unlikely to cause offence or embarrassment to fellow Members. We ask Members not to wear football or rugby shirts, or any clothing with the insignia of any sports club or team. Footwear, including trainers, should be smart. For health and safety reasons, Members are asked not to wear flip flops whilst in the Club. Lighthouse Social reserves the right to turn away any Members or their guests if, in the absolute discretion of the Club, they are dressed inappropriately. From time to time, certain Lighthouse Social events may have specifically stated dress codes which Members and their guests will be informed of in advance and should adhere to.

Food & Beverage

No outside food or beverage is permitted inside the Club, with the exception of specific food items for a child’s special dietary needs, or the needs of an infant.

Guests

Members may host up to three guests at the club at any one time, other than in connection with a specific table booking, private room booking or event space booking, where guest numbers are to be agreed in advance. When not in connection with an advance table, room or space booking, should a Member wish to entertain more than three guests at any time, they may call (at least 2 hours) prior to visiting to request a larger guest list (which the Club’s management team will either approve or not approve at its absolute discretion). All guests must sign in at the front desk upon arrival but will not be granted access to the Club until the Member has arrived. You must remain with your guests at all times and are fully responsible for their conduct and behaviour whilst in the Club.

Member Events

Lighthouse Social curates, produces and hosts a monthly calendar of events for Members, that are bookable through the Club app. When a Member books an event and does not attend, that means another Member may have missed out on the chance to participate (especially in the case of events with very limited places). Repeated non attendance may result in the suspension of event booking privileges.

Children

Lighthouse Social is a private Club for adults, but children, at certain times and in certain spaces, are also welcome. Babes in arms under 1 years old are permitted in the club until 5pm, within designated areas. Children between the ages of 1 and 6 years old must be child Members to enter Lighthouse Social, and remain in the creche during their visit, unless they are attending programming put on specifically for that age group. Well behaved children between 7 and 12 are permitted in the club from opening until 5pm but form part of your guest allowance, and must always be under the direct supervision of a parent. Children between 13 and 18 are permitted in the club from opening until 5pm but form part of your guest allowance.

Use of The Creche

The creche facility is designed to cater for children aged 1-6 years old, all of whom must be Child Members. The number of Child Memberships is limited, and Child Memberships include a fixed allowance of creche hours per month. The creche operates on advance bookings, made a minimum of 24 hours in advance. During the onboarding of Child Members, the associated parent or carer of the Child Member Member will be required to agree to further terms and conditions that are unique to the creche, and cover areas such as data policy and safeguarding. These rules – known as the Lighthouse Social Creche Terms and Conditions of Membership – are available upon request.

Dogs

Well-behaved, house-trained, pet dogs are welcome in designated areas of the club until 7pm from Monday to Wednesday (inclusive) and up until 5pm from Thursday to Sunday (inclusive). Pet dogs must remain on a lead and are not allowed on any furniture. In order for us to manage the number of pet dogs that might be in the Club at any time, they must be pre-registered with the Club prior to visiting. The number of pre-registered pet dogs may be limited, and the Club’s management team may refuse one or more pet dogs access to the club where there is an unusually high number of other dogs already present, or for any other reason at its absolute discretion. Members will be asked to remove their pet dogs if they cause a nuisance and they may be barred from visiting the Club in future.

Lighthouse Social welcomes assistance dogs for those Members with disabilities under the Equality Act, 2010. For Members who intend to visit Club with an assistance dog, please call ahead so we can check availability and make any necessary arrangements.

Mobile Phones and Laptops

Lighthouse Social is, principally, a club designed for dining, drinking, relaxing and entertaining, especially in the evenings. Please be mindful of, and courteous to, other Members and guests when using your phone. Laptops may be used in the shared workspace on the 3rd floor Monday-Friday until 5pm and may be permitted in certain other designated areas, at the discretion of Club management, from time to time. Any audio from phones and laptops should be enjoyed with headphones. Mobile phones should be placed on silent upon entering the club. Any video calls should be taken with the privacy of Members and guests in mind.

CCTV

In or to ensure the safety of our Members, guests and staff, Lighthouse Social operates CCTV cameras throughout the Club. By entering the Club, you and your guests accept that you will be captured on CCTV and that footage will be stored. The footage is accessed only if and when an incident occurs, and, save where it is required for any investigation or other reason, will be disposed of after 6 months. For the avoidance of doubt, CCTV footage may be shared by Lighthouse Social with the Police or any safeguarding body, where the Club deems it appropriate to do so.

No Smoking Policy

No smoking or vaping of any kind will be permitted inside Lighthouse Social at any time. Members and their guests will be allowed to smoke in designated outdoor areas only. All Members and their guests must respect the wishes of the Club and its Members and their guests regarding smoking and should refrain from doing so when requested.

Photography and Filming

The use of camera, video and recording devices is not permitted unless it is within a pre-booked private dining room or enclosed event space.

During certain club events, the Lighthouse Social team and / or Lighthouse Social partners may elect to film or photograph in specific Club spaces. Such filming and photography may incidentally feature Members and their guests, and by attending Club events, Members and their guests grant their approval and consent to being included in any filmed and/or photographed content created, which may, in turn, feature on the Club’s Member portal and in its marketing and promotional materials.

Confidentiality

Lighthouse Social is a private club, not an open public space. Members and their guests should not post or disclose any private or unauthorised information or images on social platforms or to press outlets that in any manner violates the privacy of other Members or their guests. Noncompliance may lead to Membership suspension or termination, which shall be at the absolute discretion of Lighthouse Social.

Private Hire

Lighthouse Social incorporates a number of spaces that can be booked for private events. Those spaces can only be booked by a Member directly, or a person introduced to the Club by a Member. When a Member introduces a private hire enquiry to the Club, that Member is responsible for the conduct and behaviour of the host and guests that attend. The hire of any particular private space can be authorised and denied at the absolute discretion of Lighthouse Social.

Operating a Business

Members are welcome to host business meetings at the Club, but are not allowed to operate a business from the Club nor to have the Club as any registered office or any postal address (personal or business) under any circumstances.

Match Days

When a match or a public or private event hosted at Craven Cottage, the entire Fulham Pier facility, including the floors dedicated to Lighthouse Social, will be closed, as the required additional security means that only ticket holders can access the stadium. As a result, Members are not permitted to access the Club on match or event days. We anticipate (but we cannot guarantee) that there will be between 20-30 of these closures per year, the majority of which will be advised to Members well in advance. Some closures may have shorter notice periods depending on factors including Fulham FC’s performance in cup competitions and date changes due to factors outside of our control. Depending on the timing of such matches or events, the Club may re-open the same day.

Club Maintenance

Lighthouse Social reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to close all or part of the Club to Members and their guests for maintenance, repair, redecoration purposes, or where we consider the same is necessary for other business reasons. Where all or part of the Club is closed for such purposes, we will seek to ensure that any facilities or services are reinstated as soon as practicable.

Appropriate Conduct

Lighthouse Social shall, at its absolute discretion and on a continuing basis, determine whether any person shall become or remain a Member and/or whether any Member or guest can enter or remain on Club premises at any time. All Members shall at all times adhere to the Lighthouse Social Terms and Conditions of Membership, a copy of which are appended to these Rules. Without prejudice to those Terms and Conditions, should the activities of any Member or guest be determined illegal, disruptive or inappropriate, Lighthouse Social reserves the right to refuse service or to expel the Member or guest from the premises or to refuse service and/or escort patrons off the premises at any time for any reason. Abuse or harassment of Lighthouse Social staff is not tolerated at the Club and any such abuse or harassment may be immediately reported to the Lighthouse Social management team and could result in Membership being withdrawn.

Illegal Drugs / Substances

Lighthouse Social operates a zero tolerance policy with regards drugs. No Member or guest of a Member shall purchase, use, ingest, possess or distribute illegal drugs or other substances or attempt to do any of the same while at Lighthouse Social or whilst within the perimeter of Craven Cottage or its immediate surroundings. Contraventions of this rule may result in Membership being terminated.
